Not that they’ve ever gone away, but it’s been far too long since we’ve had Rivertown Brewing Company on Cincy Brewcast, and it’s time to remedy that situation! It’s fitting that at the same time they are not only on a absolute tear with not just new beers, but bringing back crowd pleasing favorites as … Continue reading 04-19 – Bringing Back Rivertown
It’s hard to believe that when Williamsburg’s Old Firehouse Brewery opened up 3+ years ago, that there were only 15 breweries or so in the Cincinnati area. We’re now over 50 and it’s an entirely different perspective that you’ll get when you talk to owner Adam Cowan. The balance of keeping things fresh, and building … Continue reading 04-17 – Catching Up With The Old Firehouse
The timing worked out perfectly for this week’s episode. The last time we were out at Rolling Mill Brewing Company, they hadn’t quite opened up yet. This time, not only have they opened up, but they’ve got a nice full tap lineup of their gluten free beer that we could try! It just so happens … Continue reading 04-16 – Rolling Mill and Hops In The Hangar
It all begins with a story. From every beer that you’ll order a pint of, to every person you sit down next to at a bar, the thing that ties it all together is unique stories. Sonder Brewing Company hopes to showcase that idea when they open their doors this fall. Me? I wanted to … Continue reading 04-15 – Sonder Brewing Company
We are joined this week by "The Godfather" of Cincy Craft, Mike Dewey from Mt. Carmel Brewing Co. Over the past 10-plus years, Mike and co-founder and wife Kathleen have done it "their way". Mt. Carmel has stubbornly stuck to a strategy of slow growth when all around them has exploded, and they continue to offer a tap list of "core beers" when so many brewers often don't brew the same beer twice. Mike sits down and explains to us why this is, but also reminds us that MCBC is NOT stuck in the mud by bringing us two amazing offerings--"Sap Attack" Maple Infused Brown with maple syrup harvested from Cincinnati Nature Center and "Jack'd Frost"--the second installment in their new "Limited Release" series--it's Mt. Carmel's "Tastings.com" Silver award winning stout aged six months in a Jack Daniels barrel. Mike also joins us in tasting "Space Taxi Barrel #21" bourbon barrel-aged Belgian Dark with Sangiovese, one of the latest offerings from Donny Gold's Quaff Bros. Brewing. Mike discusses recent expansions in both the brew-house and taproom, plans for an expanded outdoor experience (including more paved parking!) on the MCBC property, Presidential politics, Cincy craft beer history and so much more on this very special Cincy Brewcast, "The Voice of Cincy Craft"!
